Ride

10.5 miles up the trail. 45 minutes, 14.6 avg MPH. Was a good workout. Felt a lot better tonight than I have recently when riding in the evenings. I have a big problem with not getting enough to eat before that evening ride so I often feel pretty crappy before I get on the bike.

Tomorrow I’m going to try getting on a weekly strength workout schedule. Brief ride to warm up, then upper body workout. We’ll see.

A Pretty Good Weekend

We had a pretty good weekend around here. We had dinner together on Friday night then I played cards at Mike’s, which was a good time. On Saturday morning I rode in the “Bike the C-Bus” tour around Columbus. I had a really good time and rode about 32.5 miles. I really like riding in the city. It is much more interesting than riding out in the country. I believe this was the first year for the tour, so there were a couple of minor hiccups, but no big deal.

On Saturday night we had a good time with some co-workers of Holly, and Sunday we had lunch with D’Arcy, Heather, and some of Heather’s family.

I’m sitting watching “The Civil War” on PBS, even though I’ve seen it a couple of times. I’ll read for the rest of the evening then hit the ground running in the morning.

Hope you all are doing well.

Cash Explosion at the Ohio State Fair

On Wednesday the 30th of July Holly is producing the lottery game show
Cash Explosion at the Ohio State Fair. It is the opening day of the
fair and they will be taping two shows that day, one at 1:45 PM and
another at 6 PM. The shows are open to the public (and free) and they
are giving away prizes during the show. You only have to pay to get
into the fair.

I’m going to the 6 PM show, so if anyone is interested in going with me
let me know. It should be a lot of fun. If you have any questions let
me know.

Mom is doing great

My mother is apparently doing much much better today. They took her off the oxygen and that seems to have actually done her some good. Dad was very positive about how she is feeling.

Doctor’s Office

So today I went to the dermatologist and had a wart burned off of my face. Lots of fun. The worst part was the wait. I’m growing very impatient in my old age, and I hate to wait for anything. If the appointment is at 9:10, then I walk into the exam room at 9:10.

Today, appt. was at 9:10 and I was there by 9:05 because I knew I would need to fill out paperwork because i was a new patient. At 9:40, they called me back to the exam room. I see the nurse for 5 minutes, then another 15 minute wait until the actual doctor comes in. 10 minute procedure, so I’m actually out of there by 10:10. But that’s 45 minutes of my time wasted.

Here’s what I am proposing: When they hand me the paperwork that says that they expect full payment when services are rendered and that there are fees for late cancellations etc., I am going to hand them MY paperwork that says my working rate is xx dollars per hour. At 10 minutes past the appt. time (I’m a flexible guy) my meter starts running. At the end of the appt. we will settle up: your fee minus my fee for the time I waited.

What do you think?
